Postpartum Doula Services

Comprehensive Postpartum Doula Services by Emily Anderson

Every new mom deserves compassionate support. As a certified Postpartum Doula with extensive experience, I’m dedicated to easing your transition into parenthood. My goal is to help you rest, build confidence, and feel fully supported in your new role. I specialize in caring for first-time parents, those with late pre-term preemies, parents who have faced infertility or loss, and families without local support.

Hands-On Support.

As a certified Postpartum Doula, my primary role is to anticipate your needs without you having to ask. I’ll handle essential tasks, allowing you to focus on recovery and bonding with your baby.

My customized visits may include:

  • Breastfeeding and bottle-feeding support
  • Postpartum recovery assistance
  • Light meal preparation
  • Newborn care (swaddling, bathing, babywearing, and sleep routines)
  • Caring for the baby while you rest or shower
  • Any personalized support you need

I’m here to share the load and provide compassionate, hands-on care during this special time.

— “Emily is exactly the right type of doula you need assisting you in those crazy, beginning weeks. Knowledgeable and confident, she can assist you without making you feel inadequate. As a second-time mother, she helped me remember soothing techniques I had forgotten, suggested some new baby-wearing techniques that helped me better manage a toddler with a newborn, and helped me find mothers and resources I could use in an area I had just moved to. She was just generally reassuring and helpful. I 100% recommend her to anyone looking to hire a postpartum doula.”
— Sarah L.

“I appreciated having another adult around who wasn’t getting in the way but instead was ready to help”

— John R.

Emotional Support.

I believe the best way to care for a baby is to first hold space for you. Providing emotional support can significantly reduce the risk of perinatal mood disorders, improve the adjustment period, and strengthen the mother-baby bond.

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, 20% of mothers experience postpartum mood disorders. New parents need a safe, supportive environment to navigate the transition from pregnancy to parenthood.

With specialized training in maternal mental health through Postpartum Support International, I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental ear and a safe space to process emotions at your own pace. If additional support is needed, I have a trusted network of licensed maternal mental health professionals for referrals.

“Even as a 5th-time mother, I found Emily’s listening ear and insight into newborns so helpful and comforting in those challenging early weeks.”
— Claire R.

Confidence Building.

Welcoming a new baby presents many new experiences that can feel overwhelming. I’m here to support you on common challenges like,

  • Meal and rest planning
  • Optimizing sleep for the whole family
  • Developing routines
  • Breastfeeding and milk storage
  • Pumping
  • Soothing techniques
  • Boundary setting
  • …and bottle-feeding

As a mom and certified Postpartum Doula, I am experienced, confident, and trained with up-to-date evidence-based information.

“The next best thing to my mom.”
